Wong Doe and Jones Duo

The Wong Doe and Jones Duo have been performing since 2015, having met following a performance at the Joyce Theater in New York. They have since recorded two albums for the HR Recordings label in Europe, “Cantabile, Vols 1 and 2”, of rediscovered works for cello and piano. This season they will be performing in Canada, Spain, Gibraltar, with future tours planned for South Africa and South America.
Michael studied cello at the Royal College of Music in London and won a scholarship to study at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf, Germany. His recording of J.S. Bach’s solo cello suites (EMEC label) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York received critical acclaim.
A native of New Zealand, Henry is a graduate of the Juilliard School, and has won prizes, including two “Audience Favorite” prizes at the Sydney, Busoni and Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competitions. He has released seven albums, four of which include new or recently composed works by New Zealand composers. Henry currently serves as Professor of Piano and Keyboard Area Chair at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
