Art Classes
Imagine, create, express, inspire, captivate.
Artist and teacher Linda Capello will focus on anatomy, proportion foreshortening, mass, and line quality in this class.
Tuesdays • 10 am – 2 pm
Out of the blue, blue ribbon, blue in the face, blue-blooded, the blue hour, true blue. The idea of blue conjures up images as narrow as an idiom, as wide as a left brain will allow. Think indigo textiles, Picasso’s blue period, Chinese porcelain, the Blues, Bluegrass.
The group of artists who paint together on Thursdays at the Southampton Cultural Center challenge one other each year with a theme. Their painting styles are as diverse as their creative backgrounds and life experiences. This year their theme was blue, open to any interpretation at all, literally or figuratively.
They are on view on the back wall of the theater at the Southampton Cultural Center.
Check the Southampton Cultural Center website for scheduled events when the gallery will be open to the public.
Meet some of the artists at the Southampton Artists Association annual Memorial Day show which runs from May 22-June 1. The reception is May 25 from 4-6. All are invited.
A group of artists meets unofficially every Thursday afternoon to paint whatever they desire. Recently, they chose a theme, and that theme was “radishes.” Unless it’s in use, they display their artwork on the back wall of the auditorium.
