DESCRIPTION:Youth Talent Showcases Registration Due!\nFriday\, August 2 \nThe Southampton Youth Bureau\, in partnership with the Southampton Cultural Center\, is offering two summer Youth Talent Showcases featuring the diverse talents of local youth. Both will take place in Southampton Village’s Agawam Park\, the first on Thursday\, August 8 and the second on Thursday\, August 15\, both starting at 6:30 p.m. \nThe showcases are open to students in fifth through 12th grades. Participants will have the opportunity to perform in a variety of categories\, including acoustic music\, duets\, bands\, karaoke\, spoken word\, poetry\, and comedic acts. Featured performers will include honorees from this year’s Hamptons Got Talent and Battle of the Bands events. Additional acts are welcome to apply. \nTo participate\, all acts must preregister by Friday\, August 2. Time slots are limited\, so early registration is encouraged. Interested participants can preregister by calling 631-702-2425 or by visiting southamptontownny.gov/ybpayment. The event is free and those attending should bring blankets or chairs to sit on.

As much a part of her show as the music itself\, Edie’s wry humor makes audiences feel as though they have just spent an evening with a very close friend. Edie Carey has been performing since 1999\, singing alongside Sara Bareilles and Brandi Carlile and appearing on PRI’s syndicated Mountain Stage as well as Cayamo\, Telluride Bluegrass\, and Newport Folk Festivals. Her lullabies project with Sarah Sample won Best Children’s Album in the 2015 Independent Music Awards\, and she was a featured vocalist along with Lisa Loeb on the 2020 Grammy-winning ensemble “All the Ladies.” Americana Highways called her 2022 release “The Veil” “one of the best of the year” and Basic Folk listed it as #4 on their “Top 10 of 2022 So Far” alongside Grammy-nominees Anais Mitchell and Aoife O’Donovan. \nClick here for tickets
