DESCRIPTION:Youth Talent Showcases Registration Due!\nFriday\, August 2 \nThe Southampton Youth Bureau\, in partnership with the Southampton Cultural Center\, is offering two summer Youth Talent Showcases featuring the diverse talents of local youth. Both will take place in Southampton Village’s Agawam Park\, the first on Thursday\, August 8 and the second on Thursday\, August 15\, both starting at 6:30 p.m. \nThe showcases are open to students in fifth through 12th grades. Participants will have the opportunity to perform in a variety of categories\, including acoustic music\, duets\, bands\, karaoke\, spoken word\, poetry\, and comedic acts. Featured performers will include honorees from this year’s Hamptons Got Talent and Battle of the Bands events. Additional acts are welcome to apply. \nTo participate\, all acts must preregister by Friday\, August 2. Time slots are limited\, so early registration is encouraged. Interested participants can preregister by calling 631-702-2425 or by visiting southamptontownny.gov/ybpayment. The event is free and those attending should bring blankets or chairs to sit on.

DESCRIPTION:ROSES AT TWILIGHT:\nPARIS IN THE BELLE EPOQUE \nTuesday\, August 20\,\n6:30 pm\nThe Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary\nThis is a free event! \nJoin stunning soprano (and SCC board member) Sarah Moulton Faux\, violin virtuoso Junko Ohtsu (friend of the SCC)\, and brilliant pianist/conductor Tyson Deaton in an elegant program of French salon favorites.  These acclaimed artists will perform a graceful\, one-hour-long concert including Chopin’s Nocturne\, Op. 9\, No 2 in Eb Major\, Faure’s Nell\, Eva Dell’Aqua’s Villanelle\, Pauline Viardot’s Berceuse\, Massenet’s Meditation from “Thais”\, Bachelet’s Chere Nuit\, Puccini’s Quando m’en vo\, and Manuel de Falla/Kreisler’s Danse Espagnole from “La Vida Breve”. \nThis free concert is a collaboration between the Southampton Cultural Center and the  Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.  Donations to either or both of these worthy institutions would be greatly appreciated.
